The Carpenters' Club

How exciting it is to see a family who has always lived in substandard housing move into their first "real" home -- a home built by Habitat for Humanity of Watonwan County Area. The only thing more exciting is to move on and begin the next home for a family anxiously waiting to help build it with us and buy it through a twenty-year, no interest loan. 

We're looking for 325 "Carpenters" willing to put at least $20 "down" on a Habitat house each time one is built in Watonwan County. Your donation of $20, combined with 324 other residents, will provide $6500 that will enable us to build a foundation for the next house. We are currently only building one house per year -- $20 is not too much especially when you see the joy on the new homeowner's face. Larger gifts will help us be prepared for further construction steps.

Consider becoming one of our 325 Carpenters. You could ask your Sunday school class or organization to become a Carpenter as a group. Ten people in you group could pledge $10 per house, allowing the group to become "Room Framers" in out Carpenters' Club.

Each club member can also sign or have his/her name added to our "Carpenters' Club" poster on display at each house we are building, and will be acknowledged in our newsletter, "The Blueprint" .
